Prior to assuming the more widely recognized role of President, Mo Zhaohong’s principal expertise lay in his position as Treasurer, a pivotal role encompassing the management of bank liquidity, risk, and financial resources. Following his retirement, Mo Zhaohong did not merely occupy a nominal role as an independent director; rather, he undertook significant managerial responsibilities within Fubon Financial Holding, thereby affirming his credibility in corporate governance and sustainable management practices. In his capacity as the convenor of the Compensation and Nomination Committee, he was charged with overseeing the selection and remuneration frameworks for senior executives, directly addressing fundamental elements of corporate governance. Regarding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria, and sustainability, Mo has consistently represented both Citibank and Fubon in public forums, articulating strategies for the integration of international ESG standards within Taiwan’s banking sector. He is recognized as one of the few practitioners in Taiwan adept at reconciling the perspectives of foreign chief executives with the governance frameworks of local financial holding companies. As an active member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan, Mo has long played a pivotal role in advocating for the harmonization of Taiwan’s financial regulatory environment with global standards. His expertise has been sought on multiple occasions through interviews in the Chamber’s publication, TOPICS, where he has discussed the digital transformation of Taiwan’s financial industry.
